Paul.E.Bailey’s World–Mixcloud Catch-up

It’s been a while since I shared any of my Mixcloud work, so I thought I’d share it all in bulk. I’ve picked up the pace where my DJing is concerned and started posting more regularly in the last few months.

Recently, I finally started compiling some old school funk, soul, and disco sets that, I think, have turned out rather well. Mixing such music is difficult as old stuff doesn’t tend to stick to a uniform speed, therefore making it difficult to control on the fade-over. The

mixing on these sets is rather basic, but I’m much more concerned about the quality of the music than the mixing. I think it’s important that the forebears of dance music are given their due respect.

Unsurprisingly, these sets haven’t been met with a great reaction. Decidedly few have listened, but that concerns me little. I’ve paid my respects and that’s good enough for me. If other people don’t want to then that’s their prerogative.

In between have been a few house sets as well—gotta stick with what I know—while I plan on soon venturing out into the world of hardcore, breakbeat, and drum n bass again as well. There will also be a few tribute mixes to the great Grant Nelson soon.

Without further ado, here are the links to my recent sets and the tracklist to go with them (Link first, followed by tracklist). Enjoy!

  1. Well done Paul. I love the beats, you are so talented. I don’t have mixcloud on my device so I have to download it so that I can always listen to your collection while on the move…I wish you the best with your passion💖

    1. It’s really just a hobby now. I was trying to crack the scene for a while, but my efforts ended in failure. If I actually make it as a writer I may try and make it in music again at some point. I’ve always dreamed of producing my own track 🙂

      1. I don’t have the expectation to get discouraged anymore. I’ll find my way into that business once I’ve made my name elsewhere 🙂 I know producers so I’ll hopefully be able to acquire their assistance when the time comes.
